PC Gamer has published a list of the 200 most used passwords in an effort to get users to change them and make them harder to crack.
The most popular password for personal and corporate accounts seems to be “123456”. It is the easiest password for hackers and artificial intelligence to crack, according to NordPass, and was the most important password used in 2020, 2022 and 2024. NordPass says it will take less than a second for any hacker to enter your password if it’s “123456”. .
The United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Center advises the combination of three random words and it says it will generate a pretty good password. Make sure it’s actually three random words or the password can be cracked. Three random words should be enough to prevent sleuths from finding your password, but easy enough to remember.
